Combining knowledge with feel & intuition

Professional Equine Bodywork

Northeast EquiWellness is dedicated to providing exceptional bodywork services for equines in New Jersey and surrounding areas. I specialize in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, PEMF sessions, and Phototherapy, with additional training in Geld Scar and Groin Release. My number one goal is to make a real difference in your horse, and teach you along the way.

The bodywork doesn't end after I leave the barn. Full-length sessions come with detailed session reports including recommended exercises, stretches, and simple massages you can do to maintain our progress until next time.

My approach is different in that I meet every horse where they are. No session is the same. I am able to do this because I practice a range of techniques and modalities - I can find a way to work with any horse. Often times, my sessions go longer than intended because no matter what, I will not rush the process. I do a thorough job. Every single time.

PHILOSOPHY

Fun Fact!

Did you know that foals naturally engage in pandiculation, the instinctive act of stretching, to prepare their muscles for movement? As horses age, this behavior decreases, often leading to reduced flexibility and stiffness. I show my clients creative exercises and stretches to bring out the baby in your horse, helping them stay limber and agile at any age.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial release is a therapeutic technique designed to relieve tension in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles. By applying gentle, sustained pressure to specific areas, it helps to alleviate pain, improve flexibility, and restore normal locomotive patterns. This is a great option for horses in moderate to heavy work. Includes geld scar work for geldings and groin release.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Trigger point therapy targets specific areas of muscle tightness and knots, known as trigger points, which can cause pain and limit mobility. By applying focused pressure to these points, we can release tension, alleviate discomfort, and restore normal muscle function. This is particularly effective for horses with specific areas of pain and tension.

PEMF SESSIONS
Red/Near Infrared Light Therapy

PEMF is a non-invasive therapy that uses electromagnetic fields to enhance cellular function and promote healing. Particularly beneficial for reducing inflammation, alleviating pain,  and decreasing warmup time, this therapy can give your horse a competitive boost or accelerate recovery from injuries. It is an excellent option for maintaining peak performance in your horse.

All sessions include:

- FREE red/near infrared light therapy for your horse's poll, TMJ, C1 & C2 vertebrae. The horses love this. It is extremely calming & particularly helpful for head-shy or anxious horses.

- On request, free red/near-infrared light therapy for the back, neck, hocks or cannons!
